First Visit
Walkies recommends a home visit to meet you and your dog in order to find out what your requirements are and to find out any relevant information about your pet (allergies, medications, vet’s contact details, any problem areas, etc.) We find that you also can get a good idea about whether we at Walkies are the right fit for your dogcare needs from this first visit.
Walks
Walkies walks four dogs together maximum in order to ensure control and boundaries at all times. A client consent form is required permission given if your dog is to be exercised off the lead. The walk duration will be a minimum of one hour (unless otherwise instructed).
Insurance
Walkies has an indemnity insurance to cover any injury to your dog or damage caused by your dog whilst in the care of Walkies staff.
Keys
If access to your property is necessary in order to collect or deliver your dog from or to its home, Walkies will need keys to your property. Whilst in Walkies care these keys will kept safe and coded with only your dog’s name. Should an emergency occur, i.e. you lose your own keys, Walkies are only a phone call away to assist in such an event.
Injuries
In the unlikely event of your dog being injured whilst in Walkies care, we will inform you immediately if you are contactable. Should contact not be possible, we will transport your dog to a veterinary practice (your own vet being the first choice) and will ensure your pet is well looked after.
Bookings
Bookings with Walkies should be made at least 24 hours in advance if possible. Similarly, should a cancellation be necessary 24 hours notice is required. If a valid reason for cancellation at shorter notice is made, i.e. dog taken ill, family emergency, etc. an exception may be made at Walkies discretion, otherwise a cancellation charge of 100% of the walk fee will be incurred.
Walkies reserves the right to cancel bookings in the event of the walker being taken ill or any other unforeseen circumstances.
Weather
If dangerous weather conditions occur then Walkies has the right to cancel any booking but, where possible, we will accommodate the dog ensuring that it is toileted and entertained for what would have been the duration of the walk. Alternatively, should any problem be encountered we will stay with your pet in its own home if required.
Payment terms
Payment may be made in cash after a walk, but preferably on receipt of a weekly or monthly invoice by either by bank transfer or cash.
Illnesses
In consideration for other pet owners Walkies must be informed of any dogs that develop an illness, i.e. kennel cough or other contagious diseases and the booking, if made, will be cancelled at no cost.
